Jeanie Wyatt, Founder, South Texas Money Management, Ltd.

Leadership Women mourns the loss of long time friend and supporter Jeanie Wyatt – Founder and Chairman of South Texas Money Management.  A life-long advocate for women and trailblazer herself, she became the first woman to major in actuarial science at the University of Texas, after being heavily recruited by the math department due to her outstanding mathematics entrance exams.  After graduation, Jeanie went to work in the banking and finance industry.  In 2000 Jeanie founded South Texas Money Management (STMM), the largest independent money management firm in San Antonio – now with five offices around Texas.   As a woman business owner, she took great pride that the majority of STMM’s professionals were women.  And while Jeanie was never a graduate of one of LW’s programs, she encouraged management’s participation in Leadership Texas and saw that STMM regularly hosted and sponsored LW events.

Leadership Women offers its condolences to the Wyatt and STMM family.  Jeanie truly lived the mission of Leadership Women by encouraging opportunities for women in leadership at all levels of decision-making – especially in the world of financial independence.
