I’m stepping into this role with deep respect for the legacy built by the women who have shaped this organization, and with real excitement about where we can go next.

Already, I’ve been inspired by the energy of this community
and by what happens when women leaders come together across differences, industries, and experiences to learn from one another.

Leadership Women has never been just about programs. It is about connection, perspective, and expanding what’s possible through leadership.

This feels like an important moment for women’s leadership. Across sectors, women are
leading through complexity, driving change, and helping navigate challenges that don’t come with easy answers. What I see, and what gives me hope, is women leaning into those challenges with courage, creativity, and a real commitment
to lifting others as they lead.

That is part of why this moment matters. Strong networks matter. Honest conversations matter. Spaces where women can challenge one another, learn together, and lead boldly matter. That has
long been the work of Leadership Women, and it feels especially relevant now.

I’m grateful to join you in this next chapter and excited for what we’ll continue to build together.

What We’re Learning

Across recent conversations in our programs, a few themes continue to rise to the surface:

Leadership today requires leading through complexity, not around it. Many
of the challenges leaders face today do not have simple solutions. We are seeing women lead by asking better questions, building unique partnerships, and staying engaged in problems that require both courage and nuance.

Connection is not a soft skill, it is strategic. Again and again, we
see that strong leadership is rooted in relationships, trust, and the ability to work across difference. In a time that often feels fragmented, the ability to convene, collaborate, and bridge divides may be one of the most important
                    leadership skills we can cultivate.

Women are redefining leadership in powerful ways. We continue to see women leading with both strength and empathy, influence and authenticity, vision
and action. Not as competing qualities, but as complementary ones. That is not only reshaping organizations but expanding what effective leadership can look like.

These are not just themes in our programs. They are signals of where leadership is headed.

The best way to understand the impact of these programs is often through the voices of the women experiencing them. Their reflections capture the energy in the room, the perspectives being expanded, and the kind of growth that happens
in community. Below are just a few comments from Leadership America and Leadership Texas participants after only one session.

What is one idea or action you are taking back from this session?

"I feel so inspired to begin in small steps which cumulatively make a difference! And along with that, take pride in the fact that if your idea or action is implemented, the credit is not really the important piece!"
                    (Leadership America 2026)

Was there a moment, insight or experience from this session that stood out to you?

"Honestly, there were several. The first one was the very first evening when Alise Cortez presented "Standing in your Strength". Although I have read many leadership books and taken many different instruments, the concept
of leaning into your strengths was a HUGE paradigm shift for me. In all may years as an educator, I always lead with working to mitigate my weaknesses and letting my strengths tag along for the ride. This is only one example of the
impact I have already seen with just one session! I am SO pumped for our next session in Austin. THANK YOU again." (Leadership Texas 2026)

"I really went into this not knowing what to expect, so honestly the whole
thing really stood out for me. I loved connecting with people outside my field that I probably would never connect with otherwise, both other participants and the speakers. It was just really great overall!" (Leadership Texas 2026)

Aha Moments!

"Georgia did not disappoint! I was hesitant based on agenda content. Truly no idea what to expect. Mind blowing for me. The civic social impact as well and perspectives from diverse industries and leadership styles sharpened
tools and inspired me to grow my involvement in the community inside and outside my work. Thank you, thank you!!!" (Leadership America 2026)

"Monday’s session with Dr. Montgomery-Rice helped me realize more about why I enjoy being a people leader because everything she said about developing others truly resonates with me." (Leadership America 2026)

The next Leadership America and Leadership Texas cohorts are taking shape, and we’re excited to welcome the next group of women ready to learn, lead, and grow in community.

If you know a woman who would benefit from being challenged,
connected, and inspired through this experience, we invite you to encourage her to apply or recommend her for a future cohort.

Some of the strongest leaders in our network first came through the encouragement of another woman who saw their potential. We hope you’ll help us bring the next generation of leaders into the room.
Applications are now open, and
we invite you to be part of what comes next.
That “another woman who saw their potential” line has something. It turns nominations into legacy, not logistics.

Apply for Leadership America
Apply for Leadership Texas
Recommend a Candidate

Thank you for being part of the Leadership Women community and for the many ways you strengthen this network through your leadership, engagement, and support.

There is tremendous energy ahead, and we are excited for our future together.
