Well here we are, in the third month of the new year already! and we imagine life is getting as busy for all of you as it is for us at Leadership Women.

As we write this we just welcomed our three new Board members – Bea Lopez-Juarez, Paula Pryor and Benita Chin – to their first meeting and are so excited about them joining the Board ‘team’! It’s a busy time to be joining just as we kick off our programming and move forward with our plans for another national conference in September – more on that in a moment.

Both Leadership Texas and Leadership America were sold out this year – woo hoo! – with brand new participants looking forward to getting started.  Last week was LT’s first session, held in Dallas, with the usual jam packed agenda – breakfast and presentations at the Federal Reserve, a visit to the award-winning Paul Quinn College and its “We Over Me” organic farm and dinner at the inspirational Café Momentum, along with many informative presentations on the impact of changing demographics, how to bring together culture and commerce, and lessons from women Change Makers in the fight against poverty. The sessions for Corpus Christi, Tyler and San Antonio look just as energizing!  And have you seen our newest video on the Leadership Texas program?  Check it out here.

And we are poised to kick off Leadership America, once again in the popular destination of Washington, DC, with further sessions in Los Angeles and….Atlanta in September! The Leadership America program concludes this year following our second annual National Conference being held at the CNN Omni Center. “Our Turn – Women Leading Change” opens with a reception on Friday night Sept 25th – class reunions, anyone?? – the conference itself promises headline speakers (watch for our announcements shortly) who will address how they are ‘changing the game’ in various fields, paving the way for others to do the same. At $399. for Members, you do not want to miss this – register online or refer to our Summit page on our website.  We want to see you there!

We are pleased to report a new partnership between LW and Kendra Scott Jewelry.  We had our first alumnae get-together celebrating International Women’s Day this past Sunday.  As many may know, this popular company is known for its founding philosophy of “Family, Fashion and Philanthropy” and their support for women’s organizations in general.  Special thanks to the Dallas graduates who stopped by to support Leadership Women.

And Leadership Women graduates continue to make news – check out our features on Patricia Diaz Dennis in our Kudos section.  Congratulations to these Change Makers – you inspire us all!

We have lots more to report so watch for announcements on the website – and take heart – Spring is just around the corner!!
