After an unusually busy year we seem to be at the end of it already –now getting invitations and appointments for ‘2019’! – and we understand from many of you that the year has passed in a similar blur of activities. Is this what is meant by ‘time passes quickly when you are having fun?’ We have certainly been having fun here at LW, but, like you, we have been hard at work too.
This last quarter has seen an unprecedented number of program preview events as interest seems higher than ever in our upcoming programs. Graduates and prospective 2019 participants gathered in Atlanta, Tyler, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, El Paso and many other locations – a big thanks to our busy Ambassadors! A shout out as well to the supportive folks at Sewell Automotive here in Dallas that held a lovely reception last month as well.
Of course we are looking forward to kicking off the year with our Leadership Texas session in San Antonio in early March – where we will focus on San Antonio’s reputation as “Medical City USA” and “Military City USA.” Leadership America begins in April with our ever popular Washington, DC program where we will be hearing from Leadership America graduate, Laura Liswood, Co-Founder and Secretary General, for the Council of World Women Leaders.
Of course this has been a gratifying year for women in general, right? In particular, our own Leadership Women have been going places! Check out our feature “Kudos and Congrats” in this newsletter to see the impressive number of accomplished women who were successful in their bid for public office. Well done Ladies! And those of you who have been contemplating a run – what are you waiting for? Join your sisters and share your stories!
Other congrats go to our newest Board Member – Jodi Joyce – who joins us this month from Chicago. Read about her background here.
Many of you have noticed our expanding roster of Speakers and Consultants – all of which we have had experienced at LW and come highly recommended. If you have presented at a previous LW session and wish to be included on this roster, let us know here.
And finally – we have had a terrific response to our end-of-year fundraising campaign – so a big thank you to all who have participated in enabling more women to have access to our programs. Check out our progress on the LW home page and if you haven’t donated yet – please consider doing so now.
Looking forward to starting a new year with all of you, and in the meantime, Happy Holidays to each of you and your loved ones.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Leadership Women!
