Leadership Women, Inc. graduates are comprised of corporate and community leaders, representing women of all ages, ethnicity and professional backgrounds.  Each LW woman brings her own unique lens to the discussion.  It is this diversity of thought that enriches each program.

What are Graduates are saying…

[On the National Conference] New ideas and insights blossomed as fast as bluebonnets in a field after a spring rain. Each keynote address was interesting, provocative, and in many cases direct and spot-on. There were no punches to be pulled with this group of women. I was surprised see all of us sit up just a little bit straighter toward the end of each day.

Leadership Women was an unparalleled experience. The facilitators were fantastic, the host cities were generous in spirit, and the time dedicated to learn so much new information made for an incredible year! In a world full of busyness, this opportunity was refreshing and valuable for me to be reflective about my own professional trajectory. I believe in the Leadership Women programs so strongly that I have sent several staff members to participate and benefit from the networking and learning opportunities.

Leadership Texas was an important experience for me in recognizing that as women, we could aspire to higher levels of leadership. Upon my completion and graduation from Leadership Texas in 2001, I ran for the Texas House of Representatives in March 2002. While I did not win the election, it put me on the path for public service and the pursuit of elected office.

Judith Canales, LT'01, US Congressional Candidate for Texas' 23rd District

This year has been filled with challenges, but I count it a significant milestone to have completed this training. We traversed the state of Texas taking in its diverse landscapes and wonderful people, learning along the way that there are people in every community committed to making life better for everyone. It was a pleasure to have shared with journey with so many bright, talented, and motivated women from across this state.

The LW Impact

I entered the Leadership America program at a time that was critical in my career path. I had devoted my career to highly-localized community development, but later found myself craving a connection to a global perspective. Through the extraordinary curriculum and partnerships of Leadership America, I had the opportunity to engage with leaders across the country that were implementing better solutions for their organizations, their communities, and, most importantly, themselves. That time, combined with the thoughtful in-depth discussions facilitated by leadership experts, led me to make a critical shift in the work I pursue each day. Today I am fortunate to use the knowledge I gained to help cultivate economic investment in my city, while thoughtfully supporting the advancement of my company on a world stage.
