Marie Cohan (Lakeway, Texas) is a Senior IT Project Manager for the Texas Department of Information Resources, COO division. Over the past 25 years, Marie has worked in both the private and public sectors providing management consulting services and project management for IT application development, IT implementations (including ERP solutions), accounting and finance business process assessments and redesigns, and is a founding partner with two consulting firms. Marie has volunteered in the Austin community for over 20 years mentoring girls, providing free accounting services, and serving on various professional and educational boards. She is currently an active member of PMI, the Scrum Alliance, Executive Women in Texas Government (serving as the Communications Director), Austin Women in Technology and is a Leadership Texas alumnus. Marie is a conference speaker, an advocate for women, a mentor, a lifetime Girl Scout and volunteers weekly with Austin Pets Alive. Marie earned a BBA degree in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Texas at San Antonio, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a certified Scrum Master, has a certification in Change Leadership from Cornell University, and has earned leadership awards from Girl Scouts of Central Texas. Marie is the proud mom of three adult children, has been with her college sweetheart for almost 30 years; and has three adorable fur-babies including a sweet Pibble named Tito.
