Pat J. Mauldin (Rocky Mount, NC) graduated from Duke University and taught American history and government in Charlotte, NC. In subsequent years, she taught special education and tutored remedial reading and math while rearing five children and earning a masters from Winthrop University. Pat and her family settled in Rocky Mount, NC and over the years she has volunteered for many organizations that concentrate on improving women’s and children’s lives. When it appeared that her children were really going to attain adulthood, she became a Certified Financial Planner and set up her own fee-only practice, specializing in teaching women what they needed to know about their own finances. Pat now spends my time with her eleven grandchildren and shuttles from the mountains to the coastal plain.
