Lana G. Porter (Chicago, Illinois/Atlanta, Georgia) Founder and CEO of L&M Enterprises, is a retired executive from AT&T, with extensive corporate and entrepreneurial experience in the telecom and software areas. She was CEO of Ameritech Library Services and Dynix Corp, the world’s largest developer of library software as well as President of NEATT Wireless, a small wireless provider in NE Arkansas that was spun off from Cingular/AT&T. Her telecom career included international and senior executive positions with Ameritech, (now AT&T) over a 30 year period. She now focuses on business consulting for small and midsize businesses. She has served on the Boards of Dynix, Leadership America and the University of Detroit Mercy. She currently sits on the Boards of Murray State University Foundation and Leadership Women as well as several business advisory boards. She holds BA and MA degrees from Murray State University and an Executive MBA from The Ohio State University. In 2002 she was named Distinguished Alum of Murray State, in 2004 she was inducted into the Salem, Illinois Community High School Academic Hall of Fame, and in 2008 she was inducted into the premier class of Phi Kappa Phi at Murray State. In 2017 she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the TSM program at Murray State University and in 2018 she has been honored again as the namesake for the new Lana Garner Porter Women in Technology Award given by Murray State University. She and her husband live in Chicago and Atlanta.
