Lee Ellen Banks (El Paso, Texas) is Controller of Lone Tree Strategic Operations, a family investment office, assisting with financial and administrative matters. Banks is an accomplished financial executive with a background of progressively responsible and diversified experience in accounting, budgeting, strategic planning, management, and leadership. She has worked in the apparel industry for Perry Ellis International (Miami, Florida), a private label manufacturer (Tampa, Florida), Farah USA (El Paso, Texas) and other industries. Lee Ellen has a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from New Mexico State University and is a CPA in Texas. She is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Texas, and served as Zone Ambassador. She is a member of the Executive Committee and Treasurer of the NMSU Foundation’s Board of Directors, and a member of its President’s Associates Scholarship Board. Lee Ellen was recognized as the 2013 Distinguished Alumna from the NMSU College of Business. She sits on the board of the El Paso Marathon Foundation and is Past President of Executive Forum. Banks is also a Sustaining Advisor/Member of the Junior League of El Paso. She and her husband, Mike Mitchell, have two sons, Alex, an English teacher in Istanbul, Turkey; and Derek, a hotel manager in Dallas. Lee Ellen enjoys running, fitness, cooking, and traveling.
