Audrey Selden, JD, (Austin, TX) is an innovative public speaker, attorney and seasoned facilitator. She gives keynote presentations about equity, leadership and organizational excellence. A consultant for the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity, Audrey provides training to implement strategies to increase student access, educational equity and workforce diversity. Previously, Audrey served as the Texas Assistant Secretary of State and was deputy commissioner at the Texas Department of Insurance. After more than 20 years in public service, her “rewire-ment” includes public speaking and board service. Audrey is a former Board Chair of Leadership Women, Inc., the longest running women’s leadership development program in the U.S. She is a graduate of Leadership Texas and Leadership America. Audrey participated in Leadership International programs in India, South Africa, Mexico and Scandinavia. She serves on the Executive Women in Texas Government Conference and Scholarship Committees. She has received several community awards including the 2010 YWCA Woman of the Year for Racial Justice, the 2001 Austin Ballet Women on Their Toes Award for outstanding volunteer service, and the 1997 Ma Ferguson Award for Excellence in the Public Sector. Audrey has a BA and MPA from Michigan State University and a JD from Harvard.
