A passionate advocate for education, Anette Carlisle (Amarillo, Texas), host of the informative “Anette on Education” podcast, has a long history of involvement in education, governance, and building community capacity. A 19-year member of the Amarillo ISD Board of Trustees, Anette is now in her 8th year a an Amarillo College regent. Anette founded and led Panhandle Twenty/20, a Collective Impact initiative focused on improving educational attainment and reducing poverty. Anette focuses on systems level change and legislative advocacy.

A native of Borger, Texas, Anette is a graduate of Texas Tech University with both a BS and an MS in Zoology. Anette, a graduate of Leadership Texas, Leadership America, and Leadership International, also serves on the Leadership Women board and is past chair. Anette also serves on the boards of the Every Texan, Pastors for Texas Children, the Community College Association of Texas Trustees, and the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice at Temple University.

Anette is married to Taylor Carlisle, an Infectious Disease doctor at the Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic who is a patient and enthusiastic supporter of her endeavors. Their three creative boys all attended Amarillo public schools.
